Nirvana
Nirvana loves adventuring with lots of trees and has even challenged a goat to a dual!
Che loves to go on road trips, especially if she ends up somewhere with a good hiking trail and lots of trees!
She is a very picky eater, but has discovered three things she LOVES: bacon, peanut butter, and blue cheese.
When Nirvana was about 2 months old, she was struggling to get attention and decided to teach her humans a new trick, fetch. She also loves tennis balls and chasing sticks. Sounds a lot like a dog right?
What kind of adventures does Nirvana go on?
We love anything that involves to outdoors and Nirvana is right there for the ride!
We mostly explore the American Pacific Northwest, but we have found our way up to Canada as well.
We are fortunate to have a lot of local pet (dog) friendly breweries and coffee shops that we have been able to take Nirvana to as well.
Tell us about your most memorable adventure
Nirvana's first adventure was the most memorable, she was only two months old and we hike to the top of the Glacier Mountain "Hidden Lake" trail, she was such a trooper with all the wind and snow.
When we reached the top she challenged a small goat to a dual, the goat won!
How did you train Nirvana?
She trained us.
First we got a small carrier, she would sit inside anytime we got even close to the door.
Then we got a harness, she fell in love once she found out what it was for.
The rest is history.
What has been the most rewarding part of having a catexplorer?
Getting to share some of our most special memories with her.
She even attends group therapy with me, and has become a very important part of many people's recovery.
What has been the hardest?
Getting her to walk straight on trails, she would get distracted by every tree.
And finding a harness that she can't escape, this struggle is still very much an issue.
In hindsight, what would you do differently?
Nothing, Nirvana is very well trained and makes adventures a blast!
What advice would you give other humans training their catexplorers?
Take your time and listen to your catexplorer, they will always make it clear when they are uncomfortable.
Is there another Catexplorer that inspires you?
We love to see adventures of @nathan_thebeachcat, @kiwi_adventure_cat, and @sukiicat!
